Unity Materials & Textures πŸ–ΌοΈ


Textures

An image is internally called a texture.

  • You may modify "filter mode" to "point"
  • You may configure/disable compression. The image size must be a power of two, so you can compress it.

⚠️ Don't forget to apply changes after editing a texture.


Materials

This is a texture for a 3D models.

Create A Material

In the Project window, usually in a folder called Materials: Right-click > Create > Material.

Options:

  • 🎨 You can change the material color with the property "Albedo"
  • πŸ–ΌοΈ You can use a texture with the little circle right before "Albedo"
  • πŸ’‘ You can set the material as transparent for a light
  • πŸ’‘ You can set the smoothness to 0 (=not shinny)
  • πŸ’‘ You can enable emission and set a color, if you want this color to be emitted from your material
